This is an archived version of the Beall’s list – a list of potential predatory publishers created by a librarian Jeffrey Beall. All issues Special issues . In a previous article we have looked at “Sting operations in predatory publishing“, where we described several sting operations that had targeted predatory journals and conferences. Multiply that by the proportion of academics who will listen when you tell them to check the blacklist first and you have the maximum price you should be willing to pay. Publishing in predatory journals is widely perceived as unethical. Still, it is a misleading and dangerous practice.
