Nursing Sciences is a centre of excellence in higher education which provides leadership, quality education and training in Nursing and Midwifery. To main aim is to prepare nurse educators, researchers, practitioners, clinical specialists and/or managers in various health care settings.
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
The admission requirements will be in accordance with the University guidelines.
PRE-SERVICE (QUOTA) BSc NURSING ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
Entrance Qualifications
- Must have completed first year from School of Natural Sciences with clear passes in Biology, Mathematics,Chemistry and/or Physics
OR
- General Certificate of Education “A” level with clear passes in Biology, Mathematics,Chemistry and/or Physics
OR
- Registered Mental Health Nurse with at least two years working experience and a valid practicing licence
OR
- Direct Entry Midwife (Certified Midwife) with at least two years working experience and a valid practicing licence
OR
·Enrolled Nurse with the following:
a)At least two years working experience
b)Five subjects from School Leaving Certificate or the equivalent as follows:
“O’ Levels at least at credit level in: -
- -English Language
- -Mathematics
-Biology or General Science
-Two (2) subjects in either schedule A and C (see Application form)
-A religious subject may be substitute for one course in schedule C
- Valid practicing licence
2DIRECT ENTRY BSc NURSING
Minimum Entry requirements for all candidates are as follows:
·Registered Nurse Diploma or equivalent qualifications for those trained outside the country
·A valid practicing licence
·Five subjects from School Leaving Certificate or the equivalent as follows:
“O’ Levels at least at credit level in: -
- -English Language
- -Mathematics
-Biology or General Science
-Two (2) subjects in either schedule A and C (see Application form)
-A religious subject may be substitute for one course in schedule C
